Dean Berrien Moore III announced today that CIMMS scientist Andy Wood has been awarded the 2015 Dean’s Award for Outstanding Service by the University of Oklahoma. This award recognizes exceptional accomplishments in service during the previous year.
Andy was selected for his fine work with NOAA’s Warning Decision Training Division. He has demonstrated superior commitment to severe weather education and outreach. Andy has take the lead on numerous training projects, coordinated training webinars, and stepped up to the position of WDTD Learning Management System Project Leader. He has been instrumental in resolving technical issues as the LMS system is converted to an online interface. His dedication and expertise have been noted by the University for advancing the capabilities of WDTD.
As winner of the 2015 Dean’s Award, Andy will receive a $500 cash prize, a commemorative certificate, and permanent recognition on a plaque outside the Atmospheric & Geographic Sciences Dean’s Office. He and two other recipients will also be recognized at various college functions.
