Kelsey is currently a Masters Student, working with Dr. Pamela Heinselman and Dr. Patrick Skinner on the Warn-on-Forecast project. Her research deals with forecasting cyclic mesocyclogenesis using NEWS-e, a convection-allowing, short-term ensemble model. The goal is to see whether or not the model can resolve cyclic mesocyclogenesis-like processes, whether they are physically realistic based on the current understanding of these processes, and if the model can be used to forecast these cyclic supercells in the future.
